Monitoraggio Inquinanti Organici Persistenti (POPs)

Il recente Regolamento (UE) n. 2019/1021 del Parlamento Europeo abroga e sostituisce il Regolamento (CE) n. 850/2004 relativo agli inquinanti organici persistenti (POPs) soggetti alla Convenzione di Stoccolma, il cui uso è vietato.

Questo nuovo aggiornamento amplia l’elenco delle sostanze aggiungendo il pentaclorofenolo e i suoi sali ed esteri e il Decabromodifenil Etere (BDE 209) e propone la necessità di una tempestiva revisione dei limiti per i PBDE.

Pertanto l’elenco di composti ad oggi da monitorare sono un gruppo di pesticidi, gli alcani C10-C13 (paraffine clorurate a catena corta SCCP), i bifenili policlorurati (PCB), l’esabromo bifenile, i polibromo difenil eteri (PBDE), l’acido perfluorottano sulfonato e relativi derivati (PFOS-PFOA), i naftaleni policlorurati (PCN), le diossine e dibenzofurani, gli esabromo ciclo dodecani (HBCDD) e il pentaclorofenolo e i suoi sali ed esteri.

L’elenco di composti dell’Allegato IV e i relativi limiti devono essere considerati per la classificazione e la gestione di un rifiuto pericoloso in conformità alla Direttiva 2008/98/CE e alla Decisione 2014/955/UE.

Gli obblighi introdotti da questo regolamento sono entrati in vigore dal 15 Luglio 2019.
